UK Youth Team

Our vision for youth involvement in Scouts is that young people are heard, empowered and able to shape Scouting at every level.

We work to ensure youth voice is meaningful, inclusive and impactful, and that young people feel confident, supported and motivated to influence decisions that affect their Scouting experience and beyond.

What we do

We support youth voice across the UK by improving opportunities for young people to influence Scouting at every stage of the journey. This includes:

• Ensuring the voices of young people are represented and heard across local and national Scouting
• Supporting youth leads across the UK with training, contacts and resources to help them excel in their role and better support young people
• Creating meaningful opportunities for young people to share their views and shape decision-making
• Working with other youth organisations, their youth teams and representatives to strengthen youth voice and collaboration
• Developing programmes and resources that support young people to build skills throughout their Scouting journey, focused on the areas young people want to learn about

Direct support for Youth Leads

We also provide direct support to Youth Representatives and Youth Leads through:

• Training sessions and development opportunities
• Networking and collaboration opportunities with other young people and youth teams
• Attendance at events, meetings and forums where youth voice is a priority
• Ongoing guidance and support to help young people feel confident influencing change
