We're transforming volunteering at Scouts to make it easier, more enjoyable and rewarding. We’re rolling out changes to help us:
- Give a warmer welcome for everyone
- Deliver better learning
- Simplify how we volunteer together
With the support of easy-to-use digital tools.
We’re rolling out changes to the volunteer experience in stages - first to members in Early Adopter Counties, then to members in all other Counties. It's important to know which county you're in, so you can identify and use the information and guidance relevant to you.
Early Adopter Counties
Early Adopter Counties are: Berkshire, Coventry, Dorset, Greater London Middlesex West, Guernsey, Clwyd, Humberside, South East Scotland and West Yorkshire.
Early Adopter Counties will start to gain access to our new digital system from Thursday 21 November.
There are some simple changes that are being implemented in Early Adopter Counties now:
All other Counties
If you’re not in one of the listed Early Adopter Counties, you'll be in the all other Counties group.
All other Counties will start to gain access to our new digital system from Thursday 28 November.
There are a couple of simple changes that all Counties should be implementing now:
- Our Volunteering Culture
- Trustee Boards
- Encouraging Lead Volunteers, Team Leaders, and future Welcome Conversation Volunteers to complete the Welcome Conversation Learning and record this on Compass.
To see what County/Area/Region (Scotland) you're in, you could either:
- Login to Compass, and click on ‘My Scouting’
- Ask your volunteer line manager or someone else you volunteer with
- Check the right-hand sleeve of your uniform which should have a County and District badge(s), which will show which County/Area/Region (Scotland) you’re in.
