UK Perception Team

Our purpose is to strengthen how Scouts is seen, understood and valued across the UK. We work to ensure that the voice of The Scout Association is heard clearly, credibly and confidently by decision-makers, partners, the media and the public.

What we do

We support Scouts across the UK by shaping and improving how we communicate and engage both externally and internally. Our work includes:

• Raising the external profile and reputation of Scouts
• Communicating clearly and effectively with volunteers across the UK
• Helping volunteers build confidence and skills to engage with the media and elected officials
• Supporting advocacy activity and lobbying government on key issues
• Ensuring the voice of The Scout Association is heard as a charity

Direct support for volunteers

We help volunteers feel confident representing Scouts by providing guidance, tools and support that enable effective communication and advocacy. This includes:

• Guidance and resources for engaging with media and public stakeholders
• Support for volunteers involved in public affairs and advocacy activity
• Clear internal communications to keep volunteers informed and aligned
• Working with Ambassadors to amplify Scouts’ messages and impact
