Double check you’re happy with your session plan and make sure you have all the resources you need ready for your first session.
It’s always a good idea to have some back-up group games you can play just in case you have extra time. You can find 10-minute filler game ideas on our blog.
Send a text, phone call or email to check in with your volunteer team. It’s a great opportunity to create excitement around your first meeting and make sure they have all the information they need.
Send a reminder email or text message to parents/carers to remind them of key information, such as the meeting day and time and directions to your meeting location.
If you’ve started an adult rota, you can remind parents/carers of this and ask for them to sign up to specific session dates.
As the Section is established, you may wish to set up group chats or social media pages to share information with parents. There’s more information about safe online communication on our webpage.
