First Response Trainers Resources and Information
First response trainer resources and information
(Published February 2021, replacing version November 2020)
First Response is a joint basic first aid training programme co-owned by Girlguiding and the Scouts and available to members of both organisations. The Training is broken into three 2hour sessions which can be delivered face to face or online, in one 6 hour block or over a series of evenings. Within the syllabus and training plan we have identified what content can be delivered practically and what is required to be demonstrated. If delivered online only one element of the life support session is required to be practically demonstrated and so face to face contact with partcipants can be reduced.
Note: during the COVID 19 pandemic face to face training may not be suitable or practical, where possible online training should be provided with members undertaking the required face to face elements as soon as is practical. Full details of the COVID safe management of first aid training can be found here. This includes detail of the various delivery models available for you to use at this time, including a blended model, online facilitated sessions and the management of face to face practical validations.
