First aid guidance for managers
General information on fist aid compliance
Introduction
This guidance provides information on first aid compliance, and support when line managing volunteers who are required to complete first aid training at Scouts.
The first aid training - also known as First Response course - covers the skills and knowledge necessary to enable volunteers to manage an incident and provide basic first aid. Our First Response programme is developed in collaboration between the Scouts and Girlguiding, with a common syllabus, resources and acceptance between the two organisations.
The First Response Certificate is designed specifically for adults in The Scouts and Girlguiding, based on the situations and issues that occur within those roles. It is not, therefore, externally recognised.
To find out more information about how our First Response course was developed, access the Trainers Resources and Information page.
If, after reading this guidance, you require additional support, please contact the Scouts Information Centre via live chat, or email your query to info.centre@scouts.org.uk
