First aid on Compass

First aid on Compass

Our first aid training - also known as First Response course - is divided in two modules, 10A and 10B.

Module 10A is the theory part of the training, and covers Life Support, Major Illness, Trauma and Injury. The sessions can be completed in any order, or all together if attending a 6-hour face-to-face session.

When updating module 10A on Compass, you should select the delivery method and date of each session completed. Module 10A is considered completed when all 3 sessions are registered on Compass.

Module 10B is the practical validation, where participants have to demonstrate specific parts of the Life Support section. Volunteers can only attend the practical validation once the theory part (all module 10A sessions) is completed.

On the member's record, the expiry date will be three years from completion of module 10B.

You might find useful to use this simple log sheet to record people's progress through first aid training prior to updating it on Compass.
