Global programme ideas
Learning about the world around us is an integral part of Scouting.
Quick links
We call this collection of topics the global programme. It's woven throughout the programme to support young people to become global citizens but it can mostly be found in the international badges, global issues badges, world challenge awards and the top awards.
Elements of the global programme include:
International – learning about Scouting in other countries and as a global movement. Exploring countries and cultures through visits abroad and sectional activities.
Global – engaging with the world around us; exploring the nature on our doorstep, discovering issues that effect societies around the world and meeting the people that provide vital services in our communities. Learning how both as Scouts and citizens, we can positively impact and leave the world a better place.
