First Response reasonable adjustments for volunteers

First Response reasonable adjustments for volunteers

The Scouts have a robust Equal Opportunities Policy, which outlines our commitment to ensuring that the movement is open and accessible to all. Within this policy, we also have a commitment to make reasonable adjustments for members with disabilities to equally access Scouting.

For a learner who may be physically unable to demonstrate any process, a suitable reasonable adjustment for an assessment would be that the learner demonstrates they are independently able to successfully instruct/direct another adult, who does not have the skills or knowledge, to physically provide the care on their behalf.

First Response Trainers must consider the specific requirements of a practical assessment, as below, before granting any reasonable adjustment and should contact [email protected] if any further guidance is needed.
