Meritorious Conduct/Gallantry awards, Cornwell Scout Badge and Chief Scout's Personal Award deadlines and what happens with nominations once submitted to UK Headquarters.

The Process
Once an Award has been supported locally, the nomination form must be submitted to UK Headquarters for a decision which will include the following 6 stages.
Stage 1: Nomination form submitted to UK Headquarters by deadline
Stage 2: Suitability check by UK Headquarters
Stage 3: Criteria check by UK Headquarters
Stage 4: Nomination reviewed and award decision made by the National Awards Advisory Group
Stage 5: Award sent out for presentation
Stage 6: Award uploaded to Compass (for those with a Compass profile) when the next upload is processed.
There are six nomination form submission deadlines throughout the year for these awards.
Awards are sent out to County level (and above where relevant) unless otherwise specified.
All award recipients of Meritorious Conduct/Gallantry awards, Cornwell Scout Badge and Chief Scout's Personal Awards will receive a congratulatory letter from the Chief Scout. This will be contained within the award package to be distributed with the award.

Names of all award recipients approved and sent out during the calendar year (January - December) will be published in the Roll of honour in the year following the calendar year that the award is sent out.
We also aim for all award recipients of Meritorious Conduct/Gallantry awards and the Cornwell Scout Badge approved and sent out during the calendar year (January - December) to be invited to a suitable national event (e.g. Windsor, A day of Celebration) in the year following the calendar year that the award is sent out. (Invites are not applicable for those receiving a Chief Scout’s Personal Award.) E.g. For a nomination submitted by 30 April 2021, mailed out in June 2021, and uploaded to Compass in July 2021, the invite will be for an event in 2022 and the award will feature in the Roll of honour published in 2022.
Occasionally however, awards recipients may receive their event invite in the same calendar year (i.e. for a nomination submitted by 31 December 2021, mailed out in February 2022, award recipients may, where appropriate, receive an invitation for the event in 2022 and therefore, the award would feature in the Roll of Honour published in 2022.
