Why work for us?

Why work for us?

Working for Scouts

Hear from some of our staff and Chief Executive Matt Hyde OBE on why you should work for Scouts.

Our working culture

There're many elements of our culture that we want to retain from pre-pandemic times, but we believe these are the most important:

  • Operating highly collaboratively, across departments and with a wide range of people (staff and volunteers)
  • Using social and informal contact when physically together to create energy and excitement
  • Maximising the creativity and innovation that comes from being physically together with people

There're elements of our working practices that have evolved during the pandemic that we
want to hold on to, these include:

  • Working at pace and in an agile way
  • More focus on wellbeing and work/life balance
  • Using technology to connect, collaborate and improve efficiency where it’s fit for the
    task

Coming soon!

We're creating a space for collaborative working in our office at Gilwell Park, which we expect to be open to staff and volunteers by July 2022.

Watch this space for the big reveal.
