Funding for Meritorious Conduct/Gallantry award recipients (Cornwell Memorial Fund)

Funding up to £300

Funding for Meritorious Conduct/Gallantry award recipients (Cornwell Memorial Fund) – Up to £300

The Scout Association has one fund to help support young people (6-25) who have been awarded a Meritorious Conduct/Gallantry Award, including recipients of the Cornwell Scouts Badge.

The Cornwell Memorial Fund

The Cornwell Memorial Fund was created ‘to assist Scouts who have qualified as Cornwell Scouts and all other recipients of Gallantry and Meritorious Awards, so long as they are members of the Movement.’

The Fund is open to all recipients of Meritorious Conduct/Gallantry Awards, including recipients of the Cornwell Scouts Badge. On receipt of an award, recipients or their Group may apply for a grant for the young person to undertake an activity to celebrate their achievement with their section, Unit or Group.

Recent examples of activities include:

  • go-karting/paintballing with the section

  • a section or Group party

  • a cinema trip with the section

  • climbing/sailing/caving with the section.

We cannot fund activities that are undertaken by the individual with their family, on their own or with another organisation.

Applications must be made within six months of the young person being presented with their award. Applications are limited to one grant per award achieved. Grants are usually £300 per award.

Applications Paused

We've briefly paused applications to update our processes. We'll be up and running in April.
