(29): Presenting

This module (number 29) is designed to give adults in Scouting the skills and knowledge necessary to deliver effective presentations to audiences of varying sizes. Primarily, the module is aimed at Trainers delivering training sessions on courses, but is also relevant to those who are required to deliver presentations as part of their Scouting role. The module could therefore be ‘ongoing learning’ for Group Scout Leaders and Commissioners.

Trial validation criteria for First Aid Trainers

We're trialling a simplified process for validation of Module 28 for First Aid Trainers only.

If they are a First Aid Trainer, they need to:

  • Deliver a first aid training session supported by an experienced presenter or whilst being observed by an experienced facilitator
  • Discuss how the session went and reflecting on any improvements or adaptions that might be made in the future with particular reference to:
    • Relating to others in a learning session
    • Communicating effectively in a learning session
    • Working with individuals and in small groups
    • Helping individuals to solve their own problems
  • Once the experienced presenter is happy that you've met the criteria, they should pass this information to the Training Adviser who will update your Compass record.
