Promoting national honours and external award schemes

National honours process

Local submissions

Step 1: National honour nomination for a member of the Scouts is started locally.

Step 2: Ensure a member of the National Honours Subgroup is made aware of the national honour nomination.

Step 3: Where relevant the National Honours Subgroup provide ongoing support and guidance in order for the national honour nomination to be submitted.

Step 4: National honour nomination officially submitted.

Step 5: National honour nomination reviewed by various government departments. (Whilst you will get an acknowledgment of your submission, you may not hear anything else for 12 to 18 months). 

Step 6: National honour award granted or declined.

Step 2: National honour nomination officially submitted.

Step 3: National honour award granted or declined.
