Session summary
Identify hazards and support services, then plan a perfect city.
This programme is part of the Digital Scouting - Independent Scouting pilot.
Safety message
All activities must be safely managed. For independent scouting, there are two risk assessments that leaders and parents/carers should be aware of. One for activities being completed inside the home and another for activities being completed outside the home. Use the safety checklist to help you plan and risk assess your activity. Always have suitable supervision and an InTouch process.
- Scissors
- Ensure safety is top of mind and there is appropriate supervision when using scissors. Store all sharp objects securely.
- Glue and solvents
- Ensure there is appropriate supervision when using glue and solvent products. Make sure there’s plenty of ventilation. Be aware of any medical conditions that could be affected by glue or solvent use and make adjustments as needed.
- Rubbish and recycling
- All items should be clean and suitable for this activity.
