Unit Leadership Team Roadmap
How your Unit will develop over the next 18 months
Starting out as a Unit Leadership Team is exciting, but it can also feel daunting, especially if this is your first Jamboree. To make things easier, we’ve created a simple roadmap showing what the next 18 months could look like.
The Jamboree journey is split into five stages:

Get to know your team
Bring your leadership team together, learn how each other works, and discover how everyone can contribute. Select your Unit Members and begin building friendships within the Unit.
Create your Unit identity
Shape what makes your Unit unique with a name, badge, culture, and purpose. Led by the young people, your Unit will develop its own identity. Many Units also set up social media accounts with this identity to share their story.
Prepare for the Jamboree
Over the next 18 months you’ll plan activities, run training weekends, and fundraise. This is also about preparing your Unit for travelling as a large group, adapting to new situations, and developing campsite living skills.
At the Jamboree
Travel to the main event! This is where all your preparations come together. As leaders, you’ll support pastoral care for your Unit, help ensure everyone has a safe and fun time, and keep parents and supporters back home up to date.
Reflect on the journey
Celebrate what you’ve achieved, perhaps with a Unit reunion. Share your story locally to inspire future international adventures. Look ahead to what’s next for the Explorers, and what might be the next challenge for you as leaders.
More resources and guidance for each stage of the roadmap will be added to the Unit Leaders Hub soon, so keep an eye out for updates to help you along the way.
