#UK26WSJ: Insurance Coverage Summary
A summary guide of what is and isn't covered by insurance for the UK Contingent to 26 World Scout Jamboree
Insurance is included as part of the fee to attend the World Scout Jamboree. This includes young people (Participants), Leaders, members of the IST, and the UK Contingent Team.
The UK Contingent is insured by Unity Insurance Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Scout Association. This page gives us a summary of the coverage; the full policy will be made available for all Contingent members before travelling to the Jamboree.
Event cancellation is covered for the Jamboree, and the policy covers the following scenarios, meaning the UK Contingent couldn’t attend the event:
- Significant, national circumstances in the UK or Poland: civil commotion or unrest;
- Terrorism: occurring within 30 days before the event, and within 21 miles of the Jamboree site;
- Adverse weather: storms, flooding;
- Sudden structural collapse, or significant structural damage;
- A breakdown in the supply of essential materials and resources;
- If The Scout Association determine its members cannot travel to the Jamboree due to a concern for the safety of its members. This is as long as the reason to cancel travel is outside the control of the UK Contingent.
The following Travel Insurance is provided for members of the Contingent:
- Individual baggage loss;
- Medical expenses;
- Travel delay benefit for a delayed travel provider.
The following is not covered as part of the UK Contingent’s Insurance Policy:
- The outbreak of war and related dangers;
- Communicable diseases (including COVID-19);
- Insolvency or financial failure of suppliers;
- There is an upper limit of 75. Those who will be over the age of 75 by the time of the Jamboree will be contacted separately, and will still be supported by the UK Contingent at the Jamboree.
