- Eight different fruits for each solar system (ideally raisins, blueberries, grapes, raspberries, grapefruits, oranges, small satsumas, and plums)
- Clear jugs of water
- Knives
- Chopping boards
- Skewers
- Clean, empty plastic bottles (500ml)
- Paper drinking straws
- Sticky tape
- Big pieces of card
- Pens or pencils
- Clean items of recycling
- Corks
- White vinegar
- Bicarbonate of soda
- Funnels
- Paper towels
- Teaspoons
- Spoons
- At least one cream filled biscuit for each person (such as an Oreo cookie, Golden Crunch Cream, or any similar alternative)
- Tables

- Compass
- Access to the internet
- Craft materials, including paintbrushes, scissors, black paper/card and glow-in-the-dark paints
- Painting trays
- Re-purposed materials, including old toothbrushes, black bed sheets/pillowcases and newspaper
- A red bicycle light or head-torch light
- A map of the local area
- Something to mark lines (for example, chalk, masking tape, or rope)
- Blindfolds
