Safety message

  • Always complete a register at the start of the meeting to record who is present.
  • Always remember to risk assess and plan for free time, even if it's just the first five minutes of the meeting.
  • Activities start when the first person arrives and end when the last person leaves, including leaders and their children.
  • Check the space is for hazards, keep the exits clear, and know the location of the nearest first aid kits.

Session notes

'An in-tents year' uses photos, so you'll need to gather these in advance (or in the previous session). If you have a day trip or camp planned, take photos for this activity. Otherwise, just gather photos from past events. By the end of this session, some Cubs will have earned their Photographer Activity Badge, so why not include a brief ceremony to award the badges?
