Policy, Organisation and Rules
Scouting’s Policy Organisation and Rules (POR) provides support and guidance to help us all run Scouting. Following a series of reviews and consultations, a number of updates have been made to the April 2022 edition. A full list of amendments can be found in the full POR PDF.
Key changes to POR in April 2022 include:
- Integrating POR: The appointment process into Chapter 16. This has changed no rules, but it draws together all rules relating to Adult Roles from across Chapters 3, 4, 5, 15 & POR: The appointment process.
- The replacement of POR: The appointment process - Table 2 and Table 3 with the Roles Table. The opportunity has been taken to improve the formatting and usability of the table.
- The safeguarding and vetting decision guidance has been reviewed and brought up to date.
- Amendments to various rules to reflect that the UK Headquarters membership fee is payable 'for' each member rather than 'by' members.
