We’re delighted that Craig Dewar-Willox has been appointed Chair, and Busola Sodeinde, as Vice Chair of Scouts, the UK’s largest youth movement.

Together they’ll be leading the UK Board of Trustees as Scouts prepares for the future and the launch of new strategy to 2035.

Craig has held the interim Chair role since March 2025 and has now been formally voted in as Chair. This continues a lifelong commitment to Scouts and education, with a strong alignment to our values

Busola has been a national Trustee for Scouts since 2020, Busola has also led a distinguished career in the Financial Sector, championing digital innovation and entrepreneurship. She has also served in a variety of voluntary roles, including as a Church Commissioner for England.

Values-led leadership

Craig Dewar-Willox has been a trustee of UK Scouts since 2019, he has led Scouts at both County and District levels. Professionally, Craig is a headteacher, Ofsted Inspector and holds governance roles in Local Authority School Improvement and as a strategic partner in a local authority safeguarding partnership.  He is dedicated to supporting young people of all backgrounds.

Supporting equity, diversity and inclusion

Busola truly believes in improving access to Scouts and increasing accessibility and diversity across the movement, including in leadership positions. Being involved in a youth movement as a child have her the skills, mentorship, and confidence to succeed.

‘A key reason I’m so motivated to take on this role as Vice Chair,’ she says, ‘is to help make sure equity, diversity and inclusion is visibly promoted and embedded in everything we do at Scouts, especially as we roll out our new strategy next year. Craig’s expertise in safety and safeguarding, alongside my complementary skills in EDI, finance and digital, will help us deliver strong leadership together.’

Craig and Busola will be working closely with the rest of Scouts’ Board, the UK Leadership Team and Executive Leadership team to make sure we continue to support our volunteers and inspire half a million young people across the UK gain skills for life.
