World Scout Jamboree 2023 – UK Contingent Leader and planning

Share

Liz Walker’s been appointed as the UK Contingent Leader for the next World Scout Jamboree, which will be held in South Korea in 2023.

Liz is the County Commissioner for Hertfordshire and also a member of the UK Board of Trustees. The search and selection process for the role attracted a large number of applicants and the standard was very high, so big congratulations to Liz!

The planning period for this Jamboree’s going to be very different to that of recent World Scout Jamborees and there are a wider range of risks that need to be considered, particularly with regard to COVID-19, so information and confirmation of contingent plans won’t be available until much later than usual. Liz will be taking some time to put an initial plan together for the contingent and will provide an update before the end of the year. For now, we ask you don’t start making any plans locally.

The recruitment of Deputy Contingent Leaders and Contingent Management Team roles will be announced separately.
