Windsor - On the day - Gallantry and Meritorious Conduct Award holders and their guests

If you're attending as a recent recipient of a Gallantry, Meritorious Conduct and Cornwall Scout Badge Award, you and your guests can find out what happens at the Day of Celebration and Achievement below. This includes important information on tickets and security to make sure you're able to take part.

Outline of the day

This special event takes place in the historical surroundings of Windsor. In the morning, we recommend exploring and enjoying the beautiful area. For things to do in the area, please visit the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead website

The Admissions Centre opens from 11:45am-1:15pm. When you arrive, please join the queue on St Albans Street. Make sure you arrive in plenty of time, so you can avoid large queues. Unfortunately, we can't admit late arrivals.

After you've entered, you'll be escorted to the Meritorious Conduct and Gallantry award holders' reserved section. It's next to the dais in the Quadrangle of the Castle, where you'll watch the Review of Queen's Scouts and King's Scouts.

In your reserved section, we'll give you a name badge, and we encourage you to wear it. It helps us identify you in photos so we can share them with you after the event.

The Parade enters the Quadrangle at 1:50pm. While you wait, the Scout band will entertain you, and members of the UK Leadership Team and Scout Ambassadors will greet guests.

Along with the Chief Scout, an invited guest will conduct the Review of Queen's Scouts and King's Scouts. They'll cross over to meet a few Meritorious Conduct and Gallantry Award holders. At random, these award holders will step forward and meet the VIP party. This'll be announced on the day. We'd love to offer this opportunity to everyone, but unfortunately, only a few award holders will be randomly chosen.

After this, enjoy the informal Parade around the Quadrangle. You'll follow the Parade through the Lower Ward, where you'll be escorted to a special reception at the Castle Hotel, 8 High St, Windsor SL4 1ER. This takes place around 3:00-5:00pm.

The reception is hosted by members of the National Awards Advisory Group and UK Leadership Team. Everyone's made welcome and gets to enjoy afternoon tea. During the reception, there'll be opportunities for mingling and photos.

For information on the local area, including tips on accommodation, transport, accessibility and a map of the area, please visit our local information page.

Stewards will be wearing armbands, and they're on duty to help you. We hope you have an enjoyable day.
