Mike Ashley

Treasurer of the Scout Association and Chair of the Finance Committee

Appointed Member 2020

Mike was appointed as our Treasurer in 2020. Although not previously an adult member of the movement, he was as a Cub, Scout and Venture Scout. He kept his contact with the movement while at university, and became Chairman of the Cambridge University Scout and Guide Club where he met his wife, who’s also actively involved in the movement. He holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics, and is a Chartered Accountant.

Mike enjoyed a successful career in Finance and Risk Management with KPMG, and is currently Chair of the Audit Committee of Barclays, Chair of the Cabinet Office Audit and Risk Committee. For six years from October 2014, he was also a Board member of the Charity Commission.
