Liz Walker

Member of the Nominations and Governance Committee

Elected Member 2020

Liz is County Commissioner for Hertfordshire Scouts. She has a passion for outdoor adventure and is a great believer in a truly youth-shaped movement. A Guide as a young person, Liz joined a Cub Scout Pack as part of her service requirement, and has never looked back. She helped lead a Venture Scout Unit alongside Cubs, and later supported Explorers too. She loves taking young people abroad to experience different cultures as well as enjoy fun and adventure. Liz has been involved in Jamborees in Sweden, Japan and America and has recently taken on the role as Contingent Leader to the World Scout Jamboree in Korea in 2023.

Until recently, Liz was General Counsel for the International Division at a FTSE100 company and has significant experience in risk, governance and global issues. She now owns her own business, providing coaching and leadership development as well as legal and governance services. Liz joined the Nominations and Governance Committee of the Scouts and has had roles on the Audit and Risk Committee of another major charity.

Liz is a Freeman of the City of London and is looking forward to one day driving sheep over Tower Bridge.
