44th World Scout Conference
Monday 29 November to Friday 3 December 2027
The Scout Association was selected to host the 44th World Scout Conference in London in November 2027. We hope to bring delegates from 176 member organisations to London for the largest assembly of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement.
The official World Scout Conference website will launch in 2026, and information about the conference will be shared via official World Scouting Channels.
You can, however, find out basic information about the event, what it means for UK Scouting, and how you can support it below.
We can't wait to welcome the world to London in 2027.
The World Scout Conference is the governing body of the World Organization of the Scout Movement. The Conference takes place every three years and provides an opportunity for 176 National Scout Organizations to play an active role in shaping the standards, policies and shared goals of the Scout Movement worldwide.
The Conference defines the general policy of WOSM and takes decisions to advance the purpose and interests of the Scout Movement. It also elects the voting members of the World Scout Committee, admits new Member Organizations to the Movement, and decides the host countries of future World Scout Events such as Jamborees and Moots.
Each National Scout Organization can send up to six Delegates and other Observers to the Conference. Typically 1,500 – 2,000 attend the event.

We are excited to be bringing the 44th World Scout Conference back to Olympia London, the same site that hosted the 1st World Scout Jamboree and Conference in 1920.
Olympia London provides brand new, state of the art conferencing facilities in an iconic venue, meeting the needs of a modern international conference.
You can find out more about the redevelopment of Olympia London here.
The conference will start on Monday 29 November 2027, and finish on Friday 3 December 2027.
More information will be released in the coming months.
We will be recruiting a team of volunteers to help us welcome the world to London. Whilst we don't know the exact details yet, there will be roles to suit everyone.
Register your interest in volunteering now, and you will be the first to hear about the opportunities available.
2027 marks many milestones in UK Scouts history and we wish to welcome you to celebrate with us. The 44th World Scout Conference marks 120 years since Scouts was founded and 20 years since the 2007 World Scout Jamboree in Essex. We also want to play our part in World Scouting. By hosting the Conference we can demonstrate our support for Scouting across the globe.
The UK hasn't hosted the World Scout Conference since 1979. The 44th World Scout Conference marks the return of the conference to London for the first time since the first Conference in 1920.
London has lots to offer as host city for the 44th World Scout Conference. It's a vibrant cultural hotspot that celebrates diversity with festivals and events from different cultures. London fosters tolerance and understanding, and is home to places of worship of all faiths, all of which ensure a rich tapestry of multicultural diversity in the city. With restaurants serving food from all over the world, exceptional transport links, the 44th World Scout Conference will be an efficient and sustainable event.
It'll provide a unique opportunity to visit iconic Scout landmarks, like Gilwell Park and Brownsea Island, collaborate on ideas, and strengthen international unity.
This is a great opportunity for us to demonstrate to our members that we are part of a global movement alongside 57 million Scouts around the world.
Attendance at the conference will be limited. However there will be opportunities for people to help plan and deliver the conference, and take part in programme activities exploring the conference themes at a local level. Initially there will be a small organising team, but this will expand for the delivery of the conference in November 2027. We will advertise roles as they become available with an open selection process.
We will seek ways to engage with everyone around the UK:
- Produce new programme material about World Scouting
- Seek local support for visits before and after the conference to places like Brownsea Island, Gilwell Park, the sites around London and maybe further afield.
- Live stream some parts of the conference.
Please let us have any ideas that you may have.
If you would like to support the World Scout Conference, there are a few ways that you can get involved:
Solidarity Fund
Our aim is to make the 44th World Scout Conference the most inclusive and accessible yet. To help us achieve this we have set up a solidarity fund to support participants from countries that may otherwise find attending the conference financially challenging.
We know the power of bringing people together in person, and this fund will directly help those that might not otherwise be able to attend. By having more diverse voices, we can grow a stronger future for World Scouting.
The best way to make a donation is by bank transfer, you can email us and we will share the details on how to make your donation.
Alternatively can donate to the solidarity fund online by visiting the Scouts donation platform. Just select '44th World Scout Conference 2027' as your reason to donate.
Friends of the Conference
We are looking to build a Friends of the Conference network to help support our solidarity fund, with exclusive benefits made available to this group. These will include:
- Updates from the World Scout Conference Delivery Team
- A Friends of the Conference pin badge
To become a Friend of the Conference, we are asking for a minimum donation of £100 to the solidarity fund. You can make this donation using the details above.
