Scouts have access to DofE training to make sure everyone supporting the DofE has the right knowledge and skills.
DofE has an online learning platform making it easy to complete your training whenever you can. There are three courses available which also have Scouting specific modules. You can watch a short video of how to access the DofE Learning Platform.
Training for all DofE volunteer roles
Take a look at our list of DofE volunteer roles if you're unsure what training you need to complete.
This module is for everyone supporting the DofE and takes around 50 minutes. It covers an introduction to the Award and roles.
You'll need an eDofE account to access the learning and you can book onto the pathway via the DofE Opportunity Finder.
If you need an eDofE account, please contact your County/Area DofE lead or email [email protected].
Training for DofE leaders
This training is for all volunteers who are responsible for a DofE group.
This module follows the Foundations Pathway and is for anyone supporting the delivery of the Award.
The pathway consists of around 40 minutes online learning followed by a 90 minute facilitated discussion (bookable via the learning platform) and a final assessment.
This gives a detailed look at the sections, what a DofE journey looks like for participants and the systems and tools to make the programme a success.
You can book onto the pathway via the DofE Opportunity Finder.
Training for expedition assessors
This training is for all volunteers who want to assess expeditions. It's also strongly recommended for those who supervise expeditions.
This module follows the Foundations pathway and is for anyone supporting the delivery of the expedition section as an assessor or supervisor.
The pathway consists of around 2 hours online learning followed by a 90 minute facilitated discussion (bookable via the learning platform) and a final assessment.
The module looks at the DofE roles which support the expedition section and what needs to happen before, during and after the expedition to ensure participants have a safe, high quality and rewarding experience.
