Getting people to volunteer is one thing, but how do we get them to stay? This workshop is for Group Lead Volunteers and is all about making sure new volunteers get the best experience from the start to the end, meaning they stay with us for longer.

Positive and regular reviews can create a happy and effective team. Prevention is better than cure! This workshop will focus on the responsibilities of the Group Lead Volunteers around the review process. Including formal and informal procedures, support around difficult conversations and useful tools to familiarise yourself with in this area.

There’s no I in Team. This workshop is for Group Lead Volunteers and will help you create and support an effective and diverse team. We’ll be discussing the difference between managing volunteers compared to employees, flexible volunteering, having effective meetings to get people on board, where to get support and how to utilise the strengths within your team.

Whose responsibility is it to recruit more young people and volunteers? This workshop will focus on managing recruitment within your Group. We'll have a look at your role in recruitment, using Scout resources, getting the Trustee Board involved, getting your team to work together to recruit and promoting Scouts locally.
