Session summary

In this session, see if you can you sneak past the conductor and collect all the carriages without being heard. Test your skills of stealth and strategy as you make your way through this exciting challenge.

Then try a twist on the classic game of human snakes and ladders, where you’ll make right and wrong choices as you navigate along the train tracks. Each decision will impact your journey—will you make smart choices and make it safely to your destination, or will you make poor choices and encounter obstacles? Let’s see how well you know the rules of the railway!

Safety message

  • Complete frequent headcounts, especially during transitions and activities, to ensure no one is missing and everyone remains safe.
  • Always complete a register at the start of the meeting to record who is present.
  • If you are meeting or going out from your usual meeting place, remember there must be a designated leader in charge, who is not counted in the adult to young person ratio.
  • Always remember to risk assess and plan for free time, even if it's just the first five minutes of the meeting.
  • Activities start when the first person arrives and end when the last person leaves, including leaders and their children.
  • Remember to review your risk assessment to ensure you have enough adults, which may be more than the minimum ratio.
  • Maintain and keep medical records up to date, check for any allergies or intolerances, this way you can plan to have the right resources.
  • Check the space is for hazards, keep the exits clear, and know the location of the nearest first aid kits.
