Session summary

Lets play a game of space explorer and then learn about the Moon.

This activity is split into two sessions, session 3 and 4. This session is all about learning about 'The marvellous Moon'. Find what why the moon changes shape and how it was formed. Next session will be about  'what the Moon looks like' and then 'make Moon craters'.

Safety message

  • Always complete a register at the start of the meeting to record who is present.
  • Remember to review your risk assessment to ensure you have enough adults, which maybe more than the minimum ratio.
  • Check the space is for hazards, keep the exits clear, and know the location of the nearest first aid kits.

Blast off to space to learn more about the planets in this energetic game, based on Captain's Coming.

Make some mini moon craters

30 mins

Learn about the Moon by using pebbles, and flour or sand, to make craters.
