You will start this session with a quick game to find out what carbon monoxide is and where it comes from.
Then, learn how to protect yourself from the danger of carbon monoxide poisoning by solving a mystery.
Safety message
- Complete frequent headcounts, especially during transitions and activities, to ensure no one is missing and everyone remains safe.
- Always complete a register at the start of the meeting to record who is present.
- If you are meeting or going out from your usual meeting place, remember there must be a designated leader in charge, who is not counted in the adult to young person ratio.
- Always remember to risk assess and plan for free time, even if it's just the first five minutes of the meeting.
- Activities start when the first person arrives and end when the last person leaves, including leaders and their children.
- Remember to review your risk assessment to ensure you have enough adults, which may be more than the minimum ratio.
