We’re thrilled to be collaborating with Into Film. Together, we’ve created a range of activities especially for Scouts, helping young people can explore the art of filmmaking and the power of storytelling through film.
From scriptwriting and storyboarding to camera movements and lighting, young people can get creative and learn about lots of different aspects of filmmaking, while working as a team to tell their own stories.
There’s even a colourful Into Film blanket badge available at Scout Store.
Mark, from Into Film, says: ‘We’re super excited to be partnering with Scouts on a national filmmaking initiative. Filmmaking is super fun and creative, but it also gives young people an opportunity to develop important transferable skills, such as leadership, communication and problem solving.’

Lots of valuable skills – even if they’re not into film
It’s not just about the film and production skills, either. While you’re running the activities, young people will learn to collaborate, solve problems and spark their creativity – all skills that benefit a range of careers.
They might be trying to work out the best camera angle to use for their scene, with a bit of trial and error. Or they’ll be bouncing scriptwriting ideas off one another as they plan their production.
The activities aim to help Scouts build on a range of skills and introduce them to exciting careers in the film industry.

An important part of this programme will be to show them that whoever they are and wherever they’re from, a career in the film industry is absolutely possible.
