As UK Contingent Leader for the 26 World Scout Jamboree, Brendan will play a vital role in defining, organising, and delivering an exceptional experience for the UK Contingent. Working closely with local and national volunteers and staff, he will draw on the insights of previous contingents to ensure success.

Brendan will lead the recruitment and management of adult volunteers and young participants, fostering a cohesive and inspired team. Beyond the Jamboree itself, he will shape the overall UK Contingent experience, collaborating on key aspects such as planning, logistics, and budget management to create a memorable and impactful event.

Brendan will be working over the coming months with the UK International Team to map out the structure and approach of the UK Contingent. We would ask local teams to hold onto their excitement for a little while longer. Communication will come out to Counties and Nations in early 2025.

 Brendan’s Scouts journey

As an adult volunteer for over 20 years, Brendan has held a wide variety of roles at group, district and county level. He was a member of the Jamboree Organising team for EuroJam and 21 World Scout Jamboree in 2007. Following this with senior roles at WINGS in 2009 and 2014, as well as leading an expedition to Uganda in 2011.

Since 2015, Brendan was County Commissioner role for Dorset, and then held Regional Commissioner/Lead Volunteer roles for South West England and North West England.

Outside of Scouts

Professionally, Brendan is a senior Operations Manager at easyJet, where he leads a multi-disciplinary team that supports 4000 pilots to safely operate thousands of flights every week.

I am excited to be leading and supporting the UK Contingent to the World Scout Jamboree. We have a fantastic legacy over many decades, together with deep learning for the challenges faced in Korea, which enables us to make a significant contribution to Poland 2027. I very much look forward to working with volunteers and staff across our nations and regions to ensuring the jamboree experience is a safe and unforgettable one for everyone involved.
