Updating you on Gilwell Park events in 2022

Share

Lots of you have asked about big events at Gilwell Park this year. Hopefully this update will answer your questions...

The first thing to say is we’ve been working hard to make sure all Scout Adventures Centres and our teams are ready to support you.

As ever, we want to help you access amazing adventures and nights away experiences in 2022. We’re sure you’ll understand we want to focus on supporting leaders to get their young people back into the great outdoors, having adventures and sleeping under the stars.

As we continue to rebuild our teams following the pandemic we need to use all our time and energy on delivering the core Scout Adventures activity. We’ve therefore made the difficult decision to cancel the following events in 2022/23:

  • Fundays 2022 (Beaver and Cub Event)
  • Gilwell 24 2022(Explorer event)
  • Scarefest 2022 (Scout and Explorer event)
  • Wintercamp 2023 (Scout event and including Hawkhirst Wintercamp)

However, Gilwell Reunion will go ahead as a face-to-face event on 2 to 4 September at Gilwell Park. Information on how to book to follow soon.

We look forward to seeing lots of Scout camps and expeditions based at our centres this year. Meanwhile, we’ll continue to work on our exciting plans for bigger events for summer 2023.

All updates will be shared in member communications and online.
