How we’re celebrating Black History Month

Share
Dwayne Fields shared his insights on the importance of Role Models at last year's Black History Month

It’s Black History Month this October, the annual celebration of the history and achievements of black people in the UK. It’s dedicated to the story-tellers and story-makers from the past, and aims to challenge racism and educate about history that wasn’t taught.

We’re getting involved by sharing and celebrating a wide range of Black history resources to get us all talking and learning more about race. Watch out for the blogs, social media posts and new activities.

We’re also running a series of webinars to talk about race and why it matters to us as Scouts. We’ll be discussing how we can improve our cultural awareness and make Black history part of the Scout programme, amongst much more. For practical tips, tools and information that could help you be more inclusive in your area, join us this October.
