Active Adventures (delivered by Scout Adventures) is the ultimate outdoor adventure club for children aged 8 – 16 (members and non-members) designed to inspire, excite, and encourage a love for the great outdoors. From thrilling outdoor challenges to nature-based sessions, from teambuilding activities and exciting outdoor pursuits – every day is an active adventure with us!
Set in the stunning locations of Broadstone Warren (Forest Row), Gilwell Park (Chingford), Youlbury (Boars Hill) children will take part in a daily jam-packed programme of outdoor activities throughout the week. Run, climb and explore the great outdoors with action packed adventures designed to keep them active and engaged.
Our expert instructors create a safe and supportive environment where they can unplug from screens, build confidence, work as a team and develop essential life skills – all while having unforgettable fun!
What’s on offer:
- Rise to the challenge of our high-energy adventures, such as archery, ziplining and climbing.
- Take part in fun team building games and problem-solving tasks.
- Hands-on outdoor survival sessions such as shelter building, backwards cooking and fire lighting.
- Connect with the natural world with mindful activities such as outdoor arts and craft, wildlife spotting and nature walks.

Active Adventures is for children aged between 8 - 16 years old, members and non-members.
Parents/carers to drop off child/children in the morning and collect later in the day.
Active Adventures takes place 9am - 5pm daily across the February, Easter, May, Summer and October school holidays. Please see upcoming dates below.
Participants can attend individual days or the entire week.
Please note: You'll need to create a new account each time you make an Active Adventures booking. You're welcome to use the same email and password if you prefer.
Once this form is completed you will have reserved your place(s) for Active Adventures. Our team of co-ordinators will then create your booking and send you payment options. Only when payment has been received will your booking be confirmed.
We do not accept Childcare Vouchers or Tax Free Childcare.

Ticket prices are £35.00 per day per child (8-16 years old).
Save 10% by booking for the entire week at £157.50 per child.
Additional child per booking will also receive a 10% discount (This will not be applied for entire week bookings and catering is not eligible to receive a discount).
All attendees are welcome to bring their own packed lunch. Alternatively, for only an additional £4.00 per day your child can receive a hot lunch prepared by our onsite catering team at both Gilwell Park and Youlbury.
Activity sessions run at each centre from 9am to 5pm. However, to support your working day, we do offer a early drop off/late collection service for no additional charge.

All attendees are welcome to bring their own packed lunch.
Alternatively, for only an additional £4.00 per day your child can receive a hot lunch prepared by our onsite catering team at both Gilwell Park and Youlbury. This will be an option to select during the booking process and will apply to all children on your booking.
Our team can cater for the 14 key allergens as well as vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian and halal diets.
There's an on-site shop at all our centres that offers a range of affordable snacks and drinks if your child would like to bring a little spending money with them each day. (Not currently offered at Broadstone Warren).
On arrival to site, please follow signage to check in.
You must check in as soon as you arrive.
From thrilling outdoor challenges to nature-based sessions, from teambuilding activities and exciting outdoor pursuits – every day is an active adventure with us!
- Take on thrilling high-energy adventures such as archery, ziplining and high all aboard.
- Build confidence through fun teambuilding games and problem-solving challenges.
- Learn outdoor skills in survival sessions including shelter building, backwards cooking and fire lighting.
- Connect with nature with mindful activities such as outdoor crafts, wildlife spotting and woodland walks.
We'll be packing the day full of activities making the most of the adventurous and skill activities we have available on-site. These activities will be running between 9.15am and 4.45pm.
Activities will go ahead as planned in all-weather however may be moved inside depending on conditions worsening.
Activities can be subject to change and alternatives will be offered.
Water activities are not included within the programme.

All attendees will need to be able to independently toilet.
We can make reasonable adjustments and adaptations to facilitate participation by participants with additional or accessibility needs, and risk assess any adaptations to instructed activities. Please speak to us before booking.
All of our staff and volunteers are first aid trained to deal with accidents and illnesses.
Attendees will be required to wear a wristband throughout the event.

Staff and volunteers at Scout Adventures are trained in all the necessary policies and procedures. This training includes health, safety, hygiene, safeguarding, first aid and much more. We also train staff and volunteers to deliver a variety of different activities, always making sure they're safe and fun.
All attendees will need to bring their own refillable water bottle.
Own suncream which they can apply themselves.
Any medication that is required your child must be able to take independently.
Appropriate clothing dependent on the weather.
- Waterproof coat
- Strong, sturdy closed toe shoes (no flipflops/crocs/sandals/welly boots)
- Baseball/sun hat
- Long sleeved jumper/hoody
- Trousers
- Hairbands for tying hair back
Some of these requests are due to activity risk assessments and therefore failure to comply could prevent your child from being able to participate.
Packed lunch box which is balanced and filling for a full day of adventure and activities.
Our centres are nut free zones, please ensure your packed lunches abide by this rule.
Please make sure all clothing and items are clearly labelled with your child’s name and that any valuables are left at home. We strongly recommend that children DO NOT bring mobile phones, smart watches, handheld game consoles or music devices. The days are packed full of activities, and we cannot accept any responsibility if they are lost, damaged or stolen.
We supply all safety equipment such as helmets and harnesses for all activities that require them. Please do not bring your own.
