Welcome to Explorers

Congratulations on starting your Explorer Scout volunteer journey and becoming a new Explorer Scout volunteer. 

We would like to invite you to one of our online ‘Welcome to Explorers’ sessions. This will give you a brief insight into Explorers and the support and resources available. This will help make sure your Explorer Scout volunteer team is equipped with the information they need to run a fun and varied programme and keep the section open sustainably.

These are intended for:

• Group/District lead volunteers who are opening a new Explorer Unit
• Volunteers starting a new Explorer Unit
• New Explorer volunteers starting at an existing Explorer Unit

This hour-long webinar, is run by the Growth & Communities team who will take you through the basic information that you need to know about opening a Explorer Unit or starting as a Explorers volunteer. 

This will include:

• The basics of what an Explorer Scout Unit is
• The learning available and ratios needed
• An overview on the programme
• Useful information about the context for young people in Explorers
• Further support available to you.
