Joining in Award

Joining in Award

Joining In badge

Joining In Awards are given to Cubs who play an active role in their Pack. You can earn one every 12 months, which means you can collect up to three during your time as a Cub.

Cubs Joining in Award

  1. You can get these badges for taking an active part in your programme.

Tips

  • You can be awarded up to three Joining In Awards while you’re a Cub.
  • If Cubs earned Joining In Awards as a Beaver, they can wear the highest numbered one on their Cub uniform. Everyone can add up to three Joining In Awards during their time in the section.

  • The badges are numbered, so you can be awarded a new badge every 12 months from your very first day in Scouting. If you were a member in another section, the badge numbers carry on from the ones you already have.

You don’t have to start earning them as a Beaver Scout, either. Joining In Awards are about the journey, so it doesn’t matter whether you start your Scouts adventure as the youngest Beaver or halfway through Scouts.

  • You might want to celebrate as a section, for example by holding a special ceremony at the end of each term. Make sure knows what the badges mean – they represent a year of memories, friendship, and adventure.

April 2024.

Requirements can be adapted to suit each young persons abilities. See our guidance on flexibility.
