Do you love writing? Then you are in the right place. Submit your story to the Scouts and it could feature in local or national media!

Top tips on writing your story

As a starting point, writing down the answers to these questions can be helpful. It’s then a matter of putting them together in short punchy sentences. That sounds simple, but can be quite challenging. If you can’t get the words right straight away, keep trying.

Who is involved — your Group or District, a supporting organisation or company?

Who does your news affect/who does it benefit?

Where is this happening? Please provide a postcode if you have one.

Why is this story of interest — what does it say about Scouting that is new or surprising?

What is new?

What have you completed or taken part in?

What is the timing of this? Does this add significance?

When submitting your story, you give your permissions for us to use this information in its media and communications work.

Where you're disclosing information that could personally identify somebody, such as their name, location or date of birth, you should seek their permission first.

How to submit your story

Step 1: Take photos, videos and quotes

Capture the fun, adventure and challenge within your Scout group and capture the special moments with a camera or phone. Always remember to check permissions
