Reminder emails

Every member will receive an email when their safety and/or safeguarding training is due to expire in 60 and 30 days.

To give our members a helping hand with their safety and safeguarding training, we send an email to every member 60 days before their training expires, and then again at 30 days before their training expires unless they complete it.

Each email contains a link to the relevant training to complete and explains the steps members need to follow to validate their learning.

You can read the text for each email below - all details in italics are personalised in the email.

Your Scouts safety training is 60 days away from expiring

Dear First name,

The safety of young people is our number one priority, and is at the heart of everything we do.

Currently everyone is doing a brilliant job of keeping this training up-to-date, and we just wanted to let you know that your ongoing Scouts safety training is 60 days away from expiring.

This training helps you understand your responsibilities for keeping young people and adults safe and can be completed online in around 45 minutes.

Once completed you’ll need to have your compass updated but we can do that for you. When you’ve finished, please save or screenshot your end of module certificates and email them to:

  • training.compliance@scouts.org.uk (or info@scoutsni.org if you live in Northern Ireland) along with your membership number (membership number) and we will update your Compass records for you
  • or email your local Training Adviser or line manager with the same information for them to record it on Compass

Complete your safety training

We update our data each fortnight, so if you've completed your training and your Compass record has been updated you can disregard this email. If you’re still waiting for your record to be validated, please email your certificate to us at training.compliance@scouts.org.uk along with your membership number (membership number).

What if I’m no longer involved?

If no longer involved in Scouts, please contact us at training.compliance@scouts.org.uk directly, so that we can stop you from receiving any more emails.

If you’d like more details on our training requirements so that you can understand why you need to complete this training, you can find more info here.

Thank you for helping keep people safe

By completing this training and keeping your record up-to-date, you’re helping put the safety of young people first.

As always, thank you for everything you do for our movement, and your tremendous support.

Best wishes,

The Scouts

What if my training expires?

Currently, it’s a requirement to have an in-date safety training record on Compass before returning to face-to-face Scouting. Also, if you prolong completing this training your line manager may restrict your role until you are up-to-date.

What if you've already completed your training?

We update our data each fortnight, so if you've completed your training and your Compass record has been updated you can disregard this email.

If you've recently completed your training, but your record is still out of date, please remind your local Training Advisor or line manager to take a look. Alternatively, email us at training.compliance@scouts.org.uk with more information, along with your membership number (membership number).

What if I’m no longer involved?

If no longer involved in Scouts, please contact us at training.compliance@scouts.org.uk directly, so that we can stop you from receiving any more emails.

If you’d like more details on our training requirements so that you can understand why you need to complete this training, you can find more info here.
