Compass first aid FAQs
First Aid (module 10) has been replaced by two new modules, 10A First Aid Learning and 10B First Aid Practical. This will allow for more accurate recording of progress through the updated first response training and whilst impacted by COVID 19 restrictions.
Module 10A First Aid Learning covers the learning of First Response and is split into three sessions – Life Support, Major Illness, Trauma and Injury. Module 10B First Aid Practical is the practical demonstration of specific parts of the Life Support section.
Members in role prior to this change being made in Compass (Dec 2020) will need these two modules adding in to their PLP by a Training Adviser, Manager or line manager. You should find that Module X010 has been discontinued and is shown towards the bottom of their PLP – do not use this. It can be deleted if no part of it has been completed.
These modules will need to be added to the PLP even if the member has completed their Wood Badge for this role.

The training report will provide this information as it breaks down the modules in the PLP. This report is currently being up dated to include the new module information and will be available from 1 February 2021.
The training assistant will also need to be up dated but this will not be ready from February, we are working with our volunteer colleagues who produce this tool to do so as soon as they are available.
