The People and Culture (P&C) Committee is responsible to the Scout Association’s Board of Trustees for oversight of the P&C Strategy and its effective implementation, including the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) agenda. The scope of P&C Strategy includes HQ volunteers as well as the staff workforce. The Committee is responsible for the Reward Strategy; it sets and reviews the salary of executive management; oversees the annual cost of living review; is focused on developing the right working culture for the organisation; and scrutinises and approves people policies.
The role of an Independent Member is to provide the P&C Committee with advice, guidance and scrutiny to assist the Committee in making key decisions and guiding senior staff and HQ volunteers in carrying out their roles.
