Closing down of our Members site

As you may be aware, when we launched our new website in autumn 2019, we told you that we wanted to think carefully about how we transferred old content from the Members site. We wanted to make sure that we improved content so members can find it more easily, understand it better and get rid of content that was out of date. We’re excited to tell you that all that work has now been completed and we are ready to turn the old site off!

Our research, workshops and surveys allowed us to propose new categories of information and relabel some existing content. You can learn more about this research within our blog ‘The Digital Transformation of our website’.

We’re pleased to say that the content transfer is now complete and all necessary and improved information has been brought over to scouts.org.uk, this includes our A-Z of activities, our general activity guidance, POR and news.

Since all necessary member resources have now been transferred to the scouts.org.uk, we’ll be closing https://members.scouts.org.uk/ on Monday 22 March 2021. All information should be found on scouts.org.uk.

Our Info for volunteers section covers everything volunteers need to know to run a great movement. Including safety and safeguarding, running things locally, running your section, learning, development and awards and much more. Head to the main navigation and click ‘info for volunteers’ to see the wealth of information available.

Our info for parents sections tells parents about Scouts and what we do, how to earn badges and how we keep young people safe, and as lockdown continues, provides some great ideas and activities to inspire young minds at home.

We hope the transition of information from the old Members site will benefit everyone. Our new website is more accessible, especially when using mobile. You can learn more about what digital accessibility means for us on our website.

We know there is always room for improvement and we are working hard to make daily improvements and work closely with volunteers to ensure we are delivering the best quality and relevant content to the movement in an easily digestible way.

We hope you like our new site, but as always, we welcome your feedback, whether you’re a parent or a volunteer we want to hear from you. Click the purple feedback button (which you’ll see on the right hand side of every webpage) and submit your valuable feedback to us.

If you have any specific queries please email the info centre who are open 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.
