Black History Month
Black History Month is celebrated during the month of October and gives everyone the chance to share, celebrate and understand the impact of Black heritage and culture. Many use the month as an opportunity to tell the stories of less well-known individuals past and present as well as Black people in the spotlight.
Black History Month is a period to reflect on what more can be done to ensure that Black lives and achievements as showcased in a way that their valuable contributions to society are not forgotten.
Each year a theme is assigned to the month and for 2021 the theme is 'Proud to be'.
At the Scouts we're marking and celebrating Black History Month with a mix of information and events that you can join in with.
