Team awards

These awards recognise the overall section teams, in the following categories:

The First Team Home Award: Congratulations to Team Cubs who were the first team to reach the finish line at Gilwell Park having clocked up over 43,000 miles to get round our mapped-out route of the world.

The Big Miles Award: Incredible achievement Team Explorers, Network+ who had the fewest members in their team but all clubbed together to keep up with the other teams!

The Teamwork Award: Amazing teamwork from Team Scouts, who in all their posts on social media displayed great team spirit with Scouts working together to clock up 1000s of miles and raise the most money too!

The Big Noise Award: Big shout out to Team Beavers who had the most activity on social media and made the biggest impact for telling everyone about the #RaceRoundTheWorld which helped to raise funds for the Scout Groups hit hardest by Covid-19!

Individual awards

The following individuals have been awarded for their amazing effort, in each of the categories below:

The Imagination Award: Congratulations to Luke Moore in Team Cubs who travelled his miles in the most surprising way. Luke completed his mile by doing 8,000 bounces on his trampoline which took over 4 hours. Fantastic effort and great imagination, well done Luke!

The Best Costume Award: Congratulations to Liam Edgley in Team Explorer, Network + who ran his miles in a dinosaur costume. Liam’s outstanding outfit turned heads and gave us lots of laughs. Thanks for the giggles Liam!

The Big Fundraiser Award: Congratulations to Archie MacKay in Team Scouts whose amazing efforts raised over £650. Archie overcame some struggles during the lockdown and embraced every challenge and activity Scouts provided for him. Amazing work Archie, well done!

The Ends of the Earth Award: Congratulations to Scarlet Webb from Team Cubs who took part in a wide range of activities to complete her miles and support her community during this difficult climate. She always thinks of others before herself and has shown everyone what it means to be a Scout. Well done and thank you Scarlet!
