Join our Race Round the World

Help us #RaceRoundTheWorld and raise money for the Scout Groups hit hardest by COVID-19

COVID-19 is the biggest crisis we’ve faced in a generation. Now, over 500 Scout Groups are struggling to make ends meet. If they close their doors, thousands of young people will miss out on all the life-changing skills and experiences being a Scout can bring. That’s why we’re calling on everyone to join us in a sponsored #RaceRoundTheWorld, to raise vital funds at this vital moment in our history.

It’s easy to sign up, and anyone can take part:

  • Sign up and join one of our teams
  • Travel a mile or more, wherever you are and however you like (or complete an equivalent activity).
  • Get sponsored by family and friends.
  • Log your miles so we can add them to the grand total

If you’re not involved with Scouts, you can still take part.

Each team is being led by two of our amazing celebrity ambassadors

We’ve put together plenty of activities you can do with your young people at home too, each related to the countries they’ll pass through on their team’s journey.

Is your young person already involved with Scouts?

If so, just ask your section leader to see if they’re planning to take part in the race and how you can support at home.

They might’ve already planned the #RaceRoundTheWorld activities into their meetings and set up a team page to log their group’s collective miles. Orr they might ask you to support your young people to setup their own individual fundraising page – so it’s worth checking in.

While sections could travel together to clock up miles, it’d be massively helpful if you can encourage your young people to travel their miles in between section meetings.

They could even set their own goal of the amount of miles they’d like to travel to help raise more funds. If so, just make sure you remember to add their miles on our website, for them to count towards their team’s total.

If your local group isn’t doing anything in their programme related to this campaign (or you’re not able to meet face-to-face due to local restrictions in your area) you can still get involved at home. Why not try one of our new activities, or go on a long walk together this weekend to clock up your miles?

Please note, you must be 13 or over to setup a fundraising page. If you’re younger, parents/carers will need to do this on your behalf. And please make sure you have permission of any people in any photos you post on social media.
