Fundraise for Race Round the World

You can raise money to support the groups hardest hit by COVID-19 by setting up an individual or team fundraising page.

We're using a company called Enthuse to run our fundraising pages. If you've ever used JustGiving, it's very similar. Don't worry, it's easy to set up, we've even recorded a little video to show you how!

The first thing you need to do is pick which overall section team you're going to register for:

Join Team Beavers >

Join Team Cubs >

Join Team Scouts >

Join Team Explorers Network+ >

Set up a team page

If you’d like to raise money as a team – perhaps with your section, family, friends or colleagues – this is what you need to do:

  1. Click on the link to register
  2. Fill in your own details
  3. Fill in the group or unit name you want 20% of the funds you raise to go towards (optional)
  4. Click on the button to create a team
  5. Give your team a name
  6. Invite other people to join your team by putting in their email addresses – they'll automatically get an email with a link to join your team (fear not: if you don’t have their email addresses to hand you can email them a link of your team later!)
  7. Click on the button to complete your registration
  8. Personalise your own fundraising page by uploading a photo
  9. Share your page with friends and family

Top tip: As a leader you could set up a team named after your section/unit and invite other leaders as well as parents/carers of your young people to join the team. This means that when they set up their page it will be linked to the team you created. This is especially helpful if you’d like to claim 20% of the funds you raise for your group/unit to use. See more information on this below.

The miles and donations you clock as a team, or as an individual, will count towards the overall section team you’re linked to, captained by our amazing ambassadors.

Set up an individual page

  1. Click on the link to register
  2. Fill in your own details
  3. Fill in the group or unit name you want 20% of the funds you raise to go towards (optional)
  4. Click on the button to complete your registration
  5. Personalise your own fundraising page by uploading a photo
  6. Share your page with friends and family

However you decide to setup your page, the funds you raise will go towards supporting the 500+ groups hit hardest by the COVID-19 crisis. Information on how to apply for this will be shared soon.

Groups, Explorer and Network Units will be able to keep 20% of the funds they raise

We’re also giving groups/units the opportunity to keep 20% of the money they raise, as we know a lot more of you are struggling, too. This is optional and we’ll be sharing details on how Group Scouts Leaders/District Commissioners/Chairs can claim the money raised, for the group/unit to use, at the end of the campaign.

The key thing to do at this stage is to make sure when setting up your fundraising page, you include the name of your group/unit so the money can be assigned to the right group/unit. If this is something you’d like to do, just make sure everyone who’s involved in the race on your behalf – including volunteers, young people and parents/carers – remember to include your group/unit name when they sign up and register.
