The 2012 National Scout Service and Parade will took place at Windsor Castle on Sunday 29 April 2012.

This event if for adults and young people who have achieved awards to celebrate their feat.


Format of the day  

Mattins – a morning service held at St George's Chapel, Windsor. Adults who have been acknowledged with the higher Good Service Awards receive invitations to attend.

Parade of Queen's Scouts – takes place in the afternoon and is an opportunity for  young people who have achieved the Queen's Scout Award – the highest youth achievement award within Scouting – to be recognised.

The Queen's Scouts parade through Windsor Castle to the Quadrangle where they are reviewed and proceed onwards to St George's Chapel. They are then joined in the afternoon by their guests, Scout Association guests and Good Service Award holders as well as young people and adults who have been awarded the Cornwell Scout Badge, gallantry awards or awards for meritorious conduct, for their efforts within and outside of Scouting.

National Scout Service – takes place after the parade in St George's Chapel, Windsor. Designed by Queen's Scouts for Queen's Scouts, the service is also attended by Scout Association guests and Cornwell, Meritorious Conduct and Gallantry Award holders and is played over a PA system to those who wish to stay and listen to it in the Lower Ward.

After the service the Queen's Scouts reform and, following an address by the Chief Scout, parade out of the Castle before being dismissed.
