‘I got involved through a friend because they kept telling me about all the cool things they’d done, like travelling abroad for their Queen’s Scout Award, climbing and going on camp. I remember being pretty jealous. I enjoy the mixture of doing outdoor activities and getting involved in projects in our community. Last summer we helped fix up the kids local playground. I’ve just started my training to become a Young Leader and am looking forward to helping kids do the same things that I’ve got to do through Scouting. Me and some of the friends I’ve made are planning a trip to Thailand in the summer to go snorkelling, something I’ve always wanted to do. I can’t wait. I’ve already bought my snorkel!’
