‘I only got involved with Scouting recently. I’m a skiing instructor and one of the parents of a child I teach is a Scout Leader, she asked if I would come visit the local Scout Group to talk about what I do. The Scouts were so enthusiastic I found myself getting involved in teaching them how to snowboard. I love teaching and I love snowboarding, so for me giving a few hours of my time a month is no problem. Some of the Scouts have also started taking regular lessons outside Scouting, so it’s also been a great way of getting my name out there as an instructor and building up business.’
